Wash air cleaner in warm water and R36757 John Deere Filter Element Cleaner or an equivalent non- sudsing detergent for approximately 15 minutes if necessary

Rinse air cleaner from inside with clean water using a maximum water pressure of 40 psi (280 kPa)

Allow air cleaner to dry completely before using. Do not oven dry or use compressed air

To check electrolyte level: Lift hood, Remove battery caps, Electrolyte (A) should be 1/4 to 1/2 in. (6 to 12 mm) above plates (B), If necessary, add distilled water, Install caps, Lower hood.

Check Alternator belt tension

Stop engine. Remove key. Apply moderate thumb pressure to belt halfway between pulleys. Belt should deflect approximately 1/2 in. (13 mm). To tighten belt, loosen adjusting nut. Apply pressure on rear of alternator housing. Tighten nut. Check belt tension again. Replace alternator belt if it is damaged. (See your John Deere dealer for this service.)
