Rubber Boot Replacement
Warning: Handle the ToxiRAE Pro with care during this procedure.
Tab on the belt clip flipped up
Philips screw removed
Bottom corners of the boot stretched and slid over the rear of the ToxiRAE Pro
Boot slid up and off the instrument without forcing
Rubber boot inspected for damage
Is the rubber boot damaged?
If the rubber boot is damaged, replace it.
New boot slid onto the instrument
Sensor Replacement
Warning: Handle the sensor module with care.
Lift out the sensor module gently
Ensure the sensor is correctly positioned
Place the sensor module into the ToxiRAE Pro
Ensure the cap is securely screwed back on
Note: Always calibrate the ToxiRAE Pro after replacing the sensor module.
Sign off on the sensor replacement
Battery Replacement
Warning: To reduce the risk of ignition of hazardous atmospheres, replace the battery only in areas known to be non-hazardous.
Unit turned off before changing the battery
Rubber boot removed from the ToxiRAE Pro
Cap unscrewed and removed
Sensor module removed without using tools
Four screws on the back of the instrument removed
Rear cover separated from the front without disconnecting the ribbon cable
Battery disconnected from the battery connectors on the circuit board without damaging the ribbon cable
Contact pins on the ToxiRAE Pro circuit board not bent
Filter Replacement
Warning: Ensure the ToxiRAE Pro is turned off before starting the procedure.
Inspect the filter for dirt or damage.
Inspect the cap and rubber insert for damage.
Upload a photo of the damaged parts.
If the filter or cap shows signs of damage, replace the entire instrument cap assembly.
Remove the top cap by unscrewing it.
Discard the old cap/filter.
Replace with a new cap/filter by screwing it on.
Sign off on the filter replacement procedure.
Cleaning The Exterior
Warning: Do not use detergents or chemicals for cleaning.
Is the instrument clean?
Did you use a soft cloth for cleaning?
Did you use a damp cloth if necessary?
Did you install the Calibration Adapter before cleaning?
Are the sensor openings and filter clean?
Are the contacts at the base of the ToxiRAE Pro and on the charging cradle clean?
Did you wipe the contacts with a soft, dry cloth if they were not clean?
Sign off on the cleaning procedure
