Flush the pump before the fluid dries on the displacement rod

Is the pump free of water or water-based fluid overnight?

Flush the pump with the following

Flush the pump with mineral spirits solvent (white spirit)

Pressure Relief and Corrosion Prevention

Relieve the pressure in the pump

Leave mineral spirits solvent (white spirit) in the pump

Gather necessary tools and materials (lightweight oil, cleaning cloth)

Ensure the cart is on a stable surface

Clean the axle between points A and B with a cloth

Apply lightweight oil to the axle between points A and B

Check for any oil spills and clean if necessary

Stop pump at bottom of its stroke to prevent fluid from drying on exposed displacement rod and damaging throat packings.

Close bleed type master air valve (B).

Turn gun air regulator counter-clockwise to relieve pressure (if using an AA gun).

Hold gun firmly against a grounded metal pail and trigger the gun.
