Pump Package Maintenance

Pressure Relief Procedure

Lock the gun/valve trigger.

Unlock the gun/valve trigger.

Hold a metal part of the gun/valve firmly to the side of a grounded metal pail, and trigger the gun/valve to relieve pressure.

Lock the gun/valve trigger.

Open the fluid line drain valve and the pump bleed valve (P). Have a container ready to catch the drainage.

Leave the pump bleed valve open until ready to spray again.

Is the spray tip/nozzle or hose completely clogged, or is pressure not fully relieved?

If yes, very slowly loosen the tip guard retaining nut, nozzle, or hose end coupling and relieve pressure gradually, then loosen completely. Clear the tip/nozzle or hose.

Pump Package Adjustment

Warning: Keep hands and fingers away from the priming piston during operation and whenever the pump is charged with air.

Follow the Pressure Relief Procedure on page 11 before checking, clearing, or cleaning the priming piston.

Pump Priming and Adjustment

Supply fluid to the pump, per the requirements of your system.

Ensure the pump air regulator is closed.

Set the ram down air regulator to about 50 psi (3.5 bar).

Set the director valve to DOWN.

Reduce the air motor regulator pressure and open the air motor slider valve.

Hold a metal part of the gun/valve firmly to the side of a grounded metal pail and hold the trigger open.
