Motor Lubrication Recommendations — Table 1

Verify NEMA Frame Size and Conditions

Calculate lubrication interval hours based on conditions

Use a high grade ball and roller bearing grease

Consult motor manufacturers’ recommendations for lubrication and note any specific instructions

Recommended Preventive Maintenance — Recommended Seal Maintenance

Visually inspect mechanical seal for leakage.

Is the flush water on the outlet side visible?

Check for signs of malfunctioning seal

Does the seal need replacement?

Recommended Preventive Maintenance — Elastomer Inspection

Inspect all elastomers during pump maintenance

Replace elastomers (o-rings and gaskets) during seal, pump shaft and/or motor replacement

If the impeller nut gasket fails, clean the threaded hole on the impeller nut and the threads on the end of the shaft

Use a wire brush for cleaning the threads

Recommended Preventive Maintenance — Normal Duty

Replace mechanical seal annually

Recommended Preventive Maintenance — Heavy Duty

Replace mechanical seal as often as required
