Visually inspect mechanical seal for leakage

Is the flush water on the outlet side visible?

Check for signs of malfunctioning seal

Does the seal need replacement?

Recommended Preventive Maintenance — Elastomer Inspection

Inspect all elastomers during pump maintenance

Replace elastomers during seal, pump shaft, and/or motor replacement

Check if the impeller nut gasket has failed

Clean the threaded hole on the impeller nut and the threads on the end of the shaft if gasket failure is detected

Use a wire brush for cleaning the threads

Recommended Preventive Maintenance — Pump Shaft Inspection

Inspect the pump shaft and collar for wear

Inspect the shaft collar bolt(s) for wear

Inspect the shaft collar bolt(s) more often in corrosive environments
