Recommended Preventive Maintenance — Elastomer Inspection

Inspect all elastomers during pump maintenance

Replace elastomers during seal, pump shaft, and/or motor replacement

Check if the impeller nut gasket has failed

Clean the threaded hole on the impeller nut if gasket fails

Clean the threads on the end of the shaft if gasket fails

Use a wire brush for cleaning the threads

Visually inspect mechanical seal for leakage

Check visibility of flush water on the outlet side

Observe flush water for disappearance, discoloration, or unusual increase in flow

Check the seal and replace if necessary
