Is the backseat seal damaged?

If the backseat seal is damaged, it must be replaced.

Has the spindle been screwed out of the bonnet?

Check mark

Has the original backseat seal been carefully removed?

Check mark

Has a new backseat seal been mounted in the angled contact surface directly inside the opening in the bonnet?

Has any dirt been removed from the body before the valve is assembled?

Check mark

Has the cone been screwed back towards the bonnet before it is replaced in the valve body?

Check mark

Enter the torque wrench tightening value for the bonnet

Shut-off Valve Maintenance

Warning: Do not remove the packing gland if there is internal pressure in the valve.

Is the valve fully open?

Check mark

Attach a handwheel or similar on top of the spindle for pressure equalization.

Is the pressure equalized?

Check mark

Handwheel and packing gland can now be removed.

Is the valve still under pressure?

Check mark

Do not remove the bonnet while the valve is still under pressure.

Is the flat gasket (pos. A) damaged?

Check mark

Is the spindle free of scratches and impact marks?

Cone Replacement

Unscrew the cone screw (pos. B) with an Allen key

Check mark

Select the Allen key size used

Check mark

Compress the disk spring (pos. D) and remove the balls (pos. C)

Number of balls removed

Remove the cone

Check mark

Place the new cone on the spindle

Check mark

Place the disk spring (pos. D) between the spindle and the cone

Check mark

Compress the disk spring and replace the balls (pos. C)
