1 Daily Load Chain Lubrication
Preparation
Ensure the area is clean and free from obstructions
Gather necessary materials: Lubriplate Bar and Chain Oil 10-R or equivalent
Lubrication Process
Check if the load chain is clean before lubrication
Apply Lubriplate Bar and Chain Oil 10-R to the load chain until natural run-off and full coverage is achieved
Was the chain lubricated several times if operating under hot and dirty conditions?
Safety Precautions
Confirm that motor oils were not used as a lubricant
Hoist Inspection
Check for external evidence of issues
Inspect specific components
Brake for evidence of slippage
Control functions for proper operation
Load chain for proper reeving and twists
Operation of the control station ensuring buttons operate freely
Suspension lug or hook for excess free play or rotation
Loose end link, loose end screw and dead end block on double reeved units
Shackle and lug pins for wear on Models RT, RT-2, RRT and RRT-2

1 Yearly Hoist Lubrication
Safety Precautions
Handle and dispose of lubricants as directed in applicable material safety data sheets and in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Hoist Lubrication
ProtectorTM Lubrication
Ensure ProtectorTM is lubricated with Century Lubricants HB-11, #3 grease.
Has the ProtectorTM been degreased or disassembled?
Gear and Housing Lubrication
Wipe excess grease off the outside ProtectorTM surfaces with a soft cloth if gears are removed from the housing.
Degrease the remaining gears and housings if gears are removed.
Load Chain Maintenance
Clean and Inspection
Clean the load chain with a non-acid or non-caustic type solvent
Slack the chain
Inspect the chain link-by-link for issues
Is the chain worn beyond serviceable limits?
Gaging Load Chain Wear
Check gage lengths as indicated in Figure 15
Is the chain worn beyond the indicated length?
Ensure the chain is clean, free of twists, and pulled taut before measuring
