Water and sediment drained into a suitable container

Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, “General Hazard Information” for information that pertains to containing fluid spillage.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations.

Sign off on the maintenance procedure

Warning: At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.

Maintain the level of the coolant in the expansion tank to the level line

Warning: Ensure the engine is warm before starting the procedure

If engine is not warmed up, run the engine to warm up the oil

Suitable container placed under the drain valve?

Drain valve opened and oil completely drained?

Old filter elements removed and discarded?

Warning: Follow the instructions carefully to minimize the risk of fire or explosion related to the battery.

Battery cables and related parts free from signs of wear or damage

If any signs of wear or damage are found, stop the procedure and contact your Cat dealer for service.

Safe procedures for engine starting with jump-start cables followed

Open flames, sparks, smoking, cell phones or other electronic devices kept away from the battery

Battery charge checked with a voltmeter

Battery cables, clips, straps, and other restraints free from damage

Check for signs of the following on the battery cables

Is the date of installation label present?

Year of manufacture as indicated on belt webbing label, buckle housing, or installation tags

Consult your Cat dealer for the replacement of the seat belt and the mounting hardware.

Manufacture date of new seat belt

Does the manufacture date of new seat belt exceed the install by date on label?

Complete seat belt system should be installed with new mounting hardware.
