Inspect the Pow-R-Seal Gate Valve for any visible damage or wear.

Refer to the troubleshooting section (page 13) for temporary solutions to identified problems.

Was the valve operated through a full open-close cycle?

If a full cycle was not possible, was a partial cycle performed?

Sealant, Lubricant, and Anti-freeze Check

Verify compatibility of sealant, lubricant, or anti-freeze with the valve trim and product in the line.

Thermal Relief System Maintenance

Ensure grease gun is equipped with a pressure gauge

Is the grease gun kept in a heated area?

Move the valve to the closed position

Remove the safety caps on the seat lubrication fitting using a wrench

Connect the grease gun to the seat lubrication fitting(s)

Inspect Pow-R-Seal Gate Valves for visual abnormalities

Inspect thermal relief system for visual abnormalities

Was the valve operated through a full open-close cycle?

Sealant, Lubricant, and Anti-freeze Compatibility Check

Is the sealant compatible with the valve trim and product in the line?

Is the lubricant compatible with the valve trim and product in the line?

Is the anti-freeze compatible with the valve trim and product in the line?

Visually inspect the Pow-R-Seal Gate Valves for any signs of wear or damage.

Refer to troubleshooting section (page 13) for temporary solutions to identified problems.

Operate the valve through a full open-close cycle, if practical.

Operate the valve through a partial cycle as a minimum.

Sealant, Lubricant, and Anti-freeze Compatibility

Verify compatibility of sealant, lubricant, or anti-freeze with the valve trim and product in the line.

Thermal Relief System Maintenance

Inspect the valve for evidence of stem leakage.

Check for paint discoloration around the bonnet-yoke tube joint.

Add one stick of packing to keep the packing pliable.

Enter the number of packing sticks added.

Leakage Handling - Stick Method

Remove the injection stinger from the packing fitting.

Apply a good grade of bearing grease to the threads.
