Install safety shipping cap on nitrogen cylinders if removed.

Is a 12-year hydrostatic retest required for the agent cylinder?

Inspect for mechanical injury, damage, or corrosion

Is there evidence of corrosion penetrating into the pressure vessel?

Remove agent cylinder safety relief, siphon tube, and gas tube

Ensure extinguisher fill cap is used and remains on the cylinder during testing

Record hydrostatic test pressure for agent cylinders

Was the agent cylinder tested at 480 PSI?

Ensure extinguisher has been blown down and all pressure relieved from agent cylinder and hose assembly.

Is the nitrogen cylinder valve a 'quick-release' type?

Ensure no part of the body is in front of the cylinder valve outlet.

Locate the extinguisher in a dry area.

Follow the appropriate model extinguisher maintenance procedures.

Location and Accessibility Check

Ensure the extinguisher is in its designated place and easily mobilized.

Ensure there are no obstructions preventing visual location or access.

Ensure operating instructions on the nameplate are legible and facing outward.

Check that visual inspection lead wire safety seals are intact.

Examine for missing/loose parts, physical damage, corrosion, or leakage.

Inspect the discharge nozzle for obstructions and ensure the operating handle is closed.
