Check if the capacitors are functioning properly

If capacitors are not functioning, contact ABB for replacements. Do not attempt operation with other than ABB specified spare parts.

Upload a photo of the suspected faulty capacitors

Describe the observed issues with the capacitors

Sign off on the capacitors check

Reforming: Reform (re-age) spare part capacitors once a year according to ACS 600 Capacitor Reforming Guide (code: 64059629).

Enter the current usage hours of the ACx 601 unit

Is there increasing noise from fan bearings?

Is there a gradual rise in the heatsink temperature despite cleaning?

Is the frequency converter operated in a critical part of a process?

If the above symptoms are present, fan replacement is recommended

The fan can be withdrawn by removing the bottom of the frame

Replacement fans are available from ABB. Do not attempt operation with other than ABB specified spare parts

Sign off on the fan replacement procedure

Warning: The heatsink should be checked and cleaned annually to prevent overtemperature warnings and faults.

If cleaning is carried out in the same room where the unit is normally operated, use a soft brush.

Dust removed gently with a soft brush

If the installation can be taken apart and the cleaning is carried out in another room (or outdoors), compressed air can be used.

Prevent fan rotation when using compressed air for heatsink cleaning to prevent bearing wear.
