Pump Oil Change
Change the oil according to the guidelines in Hours Between Oil Changes table. When changing, remove the drain plug cap (34) at the bottom of the pump so all oil and accumulated sediment will drain out.
NOTE: Minimum oil viscosity for proper hydraulic end lubrication is 16-20 cST (80-100 SSU).
NOTE: Use of an oil cooler is recommended when process fluid and/or hydraulic end oil exceeds 180°F (82°C) for Metallic Pump Head models or when hydraulic end oil exceeds 180°F (82°C) for Non-Metallic Pump Head models.
CAUTION: Do not turn the drive shaft while the oil reservoir is empty.;
Diaphragm Maintenance
Diaphragm Lifting and Exposure
Lift the diaphragm by one edge and turn the pump shaft until the diaphragm pulls up.
Insert an Allen wrench through one of the holes to hold the diaphragm up.
Diaphragm Removal and Inspection
Remove the screw (19), O-ring (20), and follower (21) in the center of the diaphragm.
Inspect the diaphragm for the following issues
Plunger Inspection
Inspect the plunger (23) for any rough surfaces or edges.
Smooth the surfaces and edges as necessary with emery cloth or a fine file.
Initial 100 Hours Oil Change
Preparation
Ensure the pump is turned off and cooled down
Gather necessary tools and materials for oil change
Oil Drainage
Remove the drain plug cap (34) at the bottom of the pump
Allow all oil and accumulated sediment to drain out
Oil Viscosity Check
Measure the oil viscosity
Is the oil viscosity between 16-20 cST (80-100 SSU)?
Pump Inlet Pressure/Vacuum Check
Measure the inlet pressure or vacuum with a gauge
Is the vacuum at the pump inlet exceeding 7 in. Hg (180 mm Hg)?
Check the inlet piping system for blockages if vacuum exceeds 7 in. Hg (180 mm Hg)
Check if the pump inlet is located above the supply tank
Fluid Supply Level Check
Check the fluid supply level
Replenish the fluid supply if too low
1 Daily Pump Oil Check
Oil Level and Condition Check
Measure the oil level in the upper oil reservoir
Is the oil level correct?
Is the oil clean and uncontaminated?
Oil Replacement
Remove contaminated oil if discovered
Replace with clean Hydra-Oil
