Optic Axis For Auto-Tracking Adjusting
Activates auto tracking to the prism.
Confirm if the center of telescope reticle and the center of the prism is coincided.
Any error between them requires adjustment according to the following procedure.
1 Press the [ADJUST] icon.
2 Press the [ADJUST AXIS] icon.
3 Operate H/V jog shuttle and collimate prism center with telescope.
4 Press the [MEAS] key.
Measurement will begin. 5 After the measurement is completed at the normal position, press the [TURN] key.
Reverse and turn the telescope and instrument.
Instument Constant Value Setting
Press the [ADJUST] icon from the main menu.
Press the [INST. CONSTANT] key.
Press the [PRISM] key.
Input value.
Press the [SET] key.
The display returns to previous menu.
Wide-Angle Image Check
Prepare a sheet of graph paper or white paper with a thick vertical and horizontal line through the center and an offset line 45 mm above the horizontal line.
Is the main unit level?
Arrange the telescope so that it is in its normal position and horizontal.
Set up the target prepared in Step 1 at a distance of about 5 meters from the telescope. Collimate the point where the vertical and horizontal lines intersect: intersection point B.
Is the wide-angle image (magnification of 1) displayed?
Does the vertical cross-hair coincide with intersection point B and the horizontal cross-hair coincide with the offset line?
If not, adjust the horizontal cross-hair so that it coincides with the offset line. The method of adjustment is the same as that for adjusting the cross-hairs on a telescopic image.
Note: The horizontal cross-hair on the wide-angle image does not coincide with the target collimated with the telescope, but this is not a problem.
When the telescope is in the normal position, the horizontal cross-hair will deviate from the collimated target in the opposite direction from when the telescope is in the reverse position.
Plate Level Adjusting
Adjustment of the level adjustment capstan screw
Bubble returned towards the center of the plate level
Correction of the remaining amount of the bubble displacement
Bubble displacement corrected with the leveling screws
Rotation of the instrument
Instrument rotated 180° or 200G around the vertical axis
Check of bubble movement
Bubble movement checked
Repeat of the adjustment if necessary
Vertical Cross-hair Check
Set up the instrument on the tripod and carefully level it.
Sight the cross-hairs on a well-defined Point A at a distance of, at least, 50 meters (160ft.) and clamp horizontal motion.
Does the point travel along the length of the vertical cross-hair when the telescope is swung vertically using the vertical jog?
If the point appears to move continuously on the hair, the vertical cross-hair lies in a plane perpendicular to the horizontal axis (and adjustment is not required).
If the point appears to be displaced from the vertical cross-hair, as the telescope is swung vertically, then proceed with the following adjustment.
