Hydraulic Valve Maintenance
Valve Adjustment
Does the valve 'kick out' on the shear arm return stroke?
Tighten outer nut 1/4 turn and tighten lock nut if valve 'kicks out'.
Continue to cut and check if valve still 'kicks out'.
Readjust valve another 1/4 turn if necessary.
Hydraulic Pressure Check
Enter the hydraulic pressure reading from the gauge (PSI).
Is the hydraulic pressure at 2800 PSI?
Remove cap and adjust nut if pressure adjustment is needed.
6 Monthly Engine Oil Replacement
Preparation
Shut off engine or unplug electric unit from power source
Engine Maintenance
Follow engine manufacturer's recommended maintenance requirements
Replace the following every 6 months
Hydraulic System Maintenance
Replace Hydraulic oil filter element TSI# 10130-E every 6 months
Drain and replace Hydraulic oil from reservoir once per year with SAE 20 or SAE 30 Automatic Transmission Fluid; Capacity 19 gallons
Lubrication
Female Shear Bar Adjustment
Preparation
Run the unit and stop the Male Shear Arm in the lowest position so it rests within the female blades
Shut off or unplug the unit
Adjustment of Female Shear Bars
Loosen the bolts and lock nuts
Use an Allen Head wrench to adjust the Socket Head Screws to drive the Female Shear Bar securely flush against the Male Shear Arm and tighten the Lock Nuts
Ensure there is zero clearance between the Male and Female Shears
Female Shear Bar Replacement
Preparation
Run the unit and stop the Male Shear as described above
Shut off or unplug the unit
Removal of Old Shear Bars
Remove the 1/2" Bolts from both sides
Remove both Female Shear Bars
Loosen the Locking Nuts
Back-out the Socket Head Screws
Clean the mounting surface using Emery cloth
