Inspection of Terminals and Connectors

Inspect terminals/connectors for tarnish or corrosion

Check that all terminals/connectors are disconnected from the wire harness

Application of Dielectric Grease

Apply a thin layer of dielectric grease on terminals

Was any tarnish or corrosion found on terminals?

Clean terminals if tarnish or corrosion was found

Reapply dielectric grease after cleaning terminals

Empty the spreader of all ice control materials when not in use

Wash out the spreader to prevent material build-up

Wash spreader and ensure no material or residue is left in and outside the hopper

Lubricate bearing using general automotive grease

Inspect wire harness and connectors for broken insulation or missing components

Apply dielectric grease on all electrical connectors

Store hopper indoors, in a dry, cool place

Remove controller from truck and store indoors, in a dry, cool place

Inspect wire near connectors for broken or missing insulation, tarnished or corroded wires

Trim corroded wires and replace connectors if necessary
