Disconnect the power supply cord

Open the door and block it open

Discharge high voltage capacitor

Perform continuity check across thermal cut-out terminals

Check for restricted air flow to the magnetron

Reconnect all leads removed from components during testing

Reinstall the outer case (cabinet)

Reconnect the power supply cord after the outer case is installed

Probe Handling and Initial Testing

Grasp the probe of the survey instrument and hold it perpendicular to the gap between the door and the body of the oven.

Move the probe slowly along the gap, not faster than 1 in./sec. (2.5 cm/sec.), watching for the maximum indication on the meter.

Check for leakage at the following locations

While testing for leakage around the door, pull the door away from the front of the oven as far as is permitted by the closed latch assembly.

Measurement and Safety Verification

Measure carefully at the point of highest leakage.

Is the highest leakage no greater than 4mW/cm2?

Disconnect the power supply cord

Open the door and block it open

Discharge high voltage capacitor

Isolate the rectifier from the circuit

Read the resistance across the rectifier terminals using the highest ohm scale of the meter

Is a short indicated in both directions or infinite resistance read in both directions?

Disconnect the power supply cord

Open the door and block it open

Discharge high voltage capacitor

Check continuity across the magnetron filament leads

Check resistance between magnetron filament leads and chassis ground

Disconnect the power supply cord

Open the door and block it open

Discharge high voltage capacitor

Disconnect two wire leads from the male tab terminals of the Primary Interlock Relay

Check the state of the relay contacts using an ohmmeter
