Leak Detector Advanced Internal Calibration
Initial Setup
Is the internal calibration function activated?
Is the checking function activated?
Calibration Checking with Internal Calibrated Leak
Ensure leak detector is in Stand-by mode
Enter the signal value delivered by the internal calibrated leak
Enter the internal calibrated leak parameters set value
Is the difference between the signal and parameters set value lower than 15%?
Perform complete calibration of the leak detector if difference is higher than 15%
Leak Detector External Calibration
Pre-Calibration Check
Is the leak detector internally calibrated?
Ensure the following are connected properly
Test Mode Selection
Select the test mode
Cancel external calibration procedure if needed
Target Value Adjustment
Select method to set target value
Enter target value directly (if applicable)
Sniffer Probe Needle Replacement
Introduction
Ensure the new needle has the same diameter as the old needle.
Select the method for needle adjustment
Method 1 — Flowmeter Use
Connect a flowmeter (0/100 sccm) between the helium leak detector (or pump) and the sniffer probe.
Is the inlet pressure below 10 mbar?
Cut the new needle to 85 mm / 3.35 inch and insert it correctly into the nozzle.
Enter the flowmeter reading (sccm).
Does the flowmeter display the maximum flow value (60 ± 2 sccm)?
Leak Detector Internal Calibration
Initial Setup
Ensure the autocal is ON
Connect a calibrated leak to the inlet port of the detector
Gas Selection
Select the gas used for calibration
Calibrated Leak Programming
Program all parameters of the used calibrated leak
Calibration Start
Place the external calibrated leak on the test port
Leak Detector Calibration
Calibration Process
Start the leak detector
Record internal parameters values displayed during calibration
Did the digital voice announce 'Detector ready for cycle'?
Post Calibration Actions
Did the calibration fail?
Confirm use of uncalibrated leak detector for test cycle if calibration failed
Check if 'AL' is displayed permanently
Verify bargraph availability for leak value reading
