Air Filter Paper Element Change
- Loosen the cover retaining knob and remove the cover
- Remove the pre-cleaner from the paper element
- Remove the element cover nut, element cover, and paper element
- Do not wash the paper element or use pressurized air, as this will damage the element. Replace a dirty, bent, or damaged element with a new element. Handle new elements carefully
do not use if the sealing surfaces are bent or damaged
- When servicing the air cleaner, check the air cleaner base. Make sure it is secured and not bent or damaged. Also check the element cover for damaged or improper fit. Replace all damaged air cleaner components
- Reinstall the paper element, pre-cleaner, element cover, element cover nut, and air cleaner cover. Secure cover with the cover retaining knob;
Air Filter Pre-cleaner Service
- Loosen the cover retaining knob and remove the cover
- Remove the pre-cleaner from the paper element
- Wash the pre-cleaner in warm water with detergent. Rinse the pre-cleaner thoroughly until all traces of detergent are removed. Squeeze out excess water (do not wring.) Allow the pre-cleaner to dry
- Reinstall the pre-cleaner over the paper element
- Reinstall the air cleaner cover. Secure the cover with the cover retaining knob;
Battery Maintenance
- Keep the battery clean by wiping it with a damp cloth when dirty
- After cleaning, flush the outside of the battery, the battery compartment, and surrounding areas with clear water
- Coat the battery terminals lightly with petroleum jelly or a non-conductive grease to retard corrosion; - Keep the battery clean and dry
- Moisture accumulation on the battery can lead to more rapid discharge and early battery failure
- If battery cells are low, fill them to the neck of the filler hole with distilled water and recharge. If one cell is low, check for leaks
- When you charge, jump, replace, or otherwise connect battery cables to the battery, be sure the polarity is correct;
Brush Inspection
- Inspect the brushes every 3 months or 200 hours, whichever comes first;
Brush Replacement
- It is normal for the brushes and slip rings to wear and darken slightly. In taht case replace the brushes;
