Torque Switch Balancing Adjustment
Preparation
Ensure that the unit is in manual mode and load is removed from the wormshaft spring pack
Torque Switch Reinstallation
Note the open and close torque switch settings prior to reinstalling the torque switch
Loosen screws (A) and position both pointers (B) at the #1 setting, then tighten screw (A)
Ensure index marks are aligned
Loosen balancing screws and install the torque switch
Ensure the base of the torque switch is flush against the compartment and the hole for the mounting screw is aligned
Install the mounting screw

Pre-Inspection Guidelines
Ensure the actuator has been stored properly if not in use
Has the actuator been stored for a long period?
Lubricant Inspection
Inspect the gear case for proper lubrication
Is there any weeping around shaft seals?
Remove any weeping with a clean rag if found
Is the gear case mounted in a position that could cause vulnerable areas to be saturated with lubricant?

Torque Switch Setting Adjustment
Preparation
Place the L120 unit in manual mode
Release the load on the worm shaft spring pack
Ensure the operator is not in a loaded condition before proceeding
Torque Switch Setting Adjustment
Adjust the torque switch setting for both open and close directions
Set the pointer to the desired position
Tighten screw (A)
Post Adjustment Verification

Initial Setup
Open compartment cover (#200)
Put the actuator into manual operation and use the handwheel to operate the valve in the 'open' direction
Note the direction of the intermediate shaft (B) corresponding to the rotor or rotors to be set
Valve Positioning
When the valve is fully open, close it one turn of the handwheel to allow for coast of moving parts
Gear Limit Switch Check
Check the contacts of gear limit switch
Refer to contact development wiring diagram and see the contact required at trip position/end position (NO/NC)

Preparation
Is the valve out of service and no possibility of pressure entering the line?
Disconnect all incoming power to the unit
Disassembly
Remove actuator from valve
Remove seal retainer (#102)
Remove stem nut bearings and seals
