Fan Motor Testing
Warning: This test requires a fully charged 9V battery and should be performed by trained personnel only.
Is the main (240 volt) power OFF to the unit?
Have both wires (brown and black) been removed from the J2 terminal on the fan motor control (A177)?
Is the room thermostat in OFF position (unit in idle mode - no heating or cooling demands)?
Is the main power (240 volt) ON to the unit?
Upload a picture of the 9 Volt battery connected to fan motor (B4) plugs.

Outdoor Unit Maintenance
Maintenance and service must be performed by a qualified installer or service agency.
Outdoor coil cleaned and inspected?
Outdoor unit fan motor is pre-lubricated and sealed. No further lubrication is needed.
All connecting lines, joints and coils visually inspected for evidence of oil leaks?
All wiring checked for loose connections?
Voltage at unit (unit operating)
Amp draw on outdoor fan motor
Drain holes in coil compartment base inspected and cleaned if necessary?
NOTE - If insufficient heating or cooling occurs, the unit should be gauged and refrigerant charge should be checked.
Indoor Unit Maintenance
Clean or change filters
Lennox blower motors are prelubricated and permanently sealed. No more lubrication is needed.
Adjust blower speed for cooling. Measure the pressure drop over the coil to determine the correct blower CFM.

Indoor Unit Leak Testing
Leak Testing the System
IMPORTANT
Use a thermocouple or thermistor electronic vacuum gauge that is calibrated in microns. Use an instrument capable of accurately measuring down to 50 microns.
IMPORTANT
Leak detector must be capable of sensing HFC refrigerant.
WARNING
When using a high pressure gas such as dry nitrogen to pressurize a refrigeration or air conditioning system, use a regulator that can control the pressure down to 1 or 2 psig (6.9 to 13.8 kPa).
WARNING
Refrigerant can be harmful if it is inhaled. Refrigerant must be used and recovered responsibly. Failure to follow this warning may result in personal injury or death.
Outdoor Coil Maintenance
Outdoor Coil Maintenance Procedure
Is the outdoor coil exposed to corrosive substances or substances that block airflow?
