Disconnect and lock off the main power supply to avoid accidental start-up

Check electrical components and tighten any loose connections

Check all wiring and electrical insulators

Check contactors for proper operation and contact point wear

Use larger size hoses or copper lines

Perform oil change on vacuum pump at the beginning of each evacuation

Check vacuum pump, manifold, and hose assembly for pulling below 250 microns

Evacuate system from access points

Ensure all solenoids in the system are open (energized) during evacuation

Ensure all ball valves in the system are open and all service valves are appropriately cracked or back-seated during evacuation

IMPORTANT: Leak Testing Overview

Confirm all system piping, including the evaporator and accessories, are ready for leak testing.

Pressurize the system with dry nitrogen to a maximum of 150 psig (1136 kPa).

Is the system free of major leaks after initial pressurization?

Detailed Leak Check for A1 Refrigerants

Discharge the initial dry nitrogen charge.

Add refrigerant to raise the system pressure up to 10 psig (170 kPa).

Add dry nitrogen to increase the system pressure to a maximum of 150 psig (1136 kPa).

Use an electronic leak detector to check for leaks.
