If engine oil must be added during break-in, use seasonal viscosity grade oil, meeting specifications given in Fuels, Lubricants, and Coolant section.

Engine air intake system hoses and hose clamps are tight.

Drive belt tensions are adjusted. Do not pry on alternator cover. Pry only on mounting brackets. (See Adjusting Belts in Service section)

Check side frame bolt torque

Drain fuel tank sump

Lubricate rear axle bearings

Lubricate universal joints

Lubricate tie rods

Lubricate MFWD kingpins and axle pivot

Check all tires

1500 Hourly Maintenance

• Change transmission-hydraulic oil

• Clean charge pump suction screen

• Change MFWD hub and axle housing lubricant

• Check fuel injection nozzles;

Run this procedure

250 Hourly Maintenance

Change engine oil and filter

Check MFWD drive axle housing and wheel hub oil level

Service batteries

Check tension of alternator and compressor belts

Wash transmission-hydraulic oil filler cap breather filter

Inspect for loose bolts

Check neutral start system

Check brake accumulator

Inspect fire extinguisher
