Machine parked on level, solid ground

Engine stopped and starter key removed

Battery disconnected to prevent accidental operation of the engine

No loose articles in the enclosure

Chocks put against the two sides of the wheels before getting below the machine

Raise the lift arm to take the weight off of the strut

Stop the engine and remove the ignition key

Secure the strut in its stowage position

Lower the lift arm to the ground

Stop the engine and remove the ignition key

Remove the maintenance strut from its stowage position

Place the strut around the lift ram piston rod. Secure it in position with the strap

Lower the arm carefully, to prevent possible damage to the strut. Stop as soon as the weight of the lift arm is on the strut

Disconnect the battery to prevent accidental operation of the engine
