Maintenance Plans for Ingersoll Rand Refrigarated Air Dryer Model DXR75

Integrate maintenance plans directly into your work orders in MaintainX.

1 Monthly Dryer Maintenance

Check mark

Air-cooled condensers maintenance

Check mark

Inspect the condenser coils

Check mark

Remove dust, dirt or other particles with a soft brush or with compressed air from an OSHA-approved air nozzle that limits its discharge pressure to 30 psig

Check mark

If the coils are coated with oil, grease or other substances that reduce the cooling efficiency, clean the coil

Check mark

Ambient Air Filter Replacement

Check mark

Replace the ambient air filter

Check mark

Sign off on the monthly dryer maintenance

Run this procedureArrow right

1 Weekly Dryer Maintenance

Check mark

Prefilter differential pressure gauge checked

Check mark

Filter element replaced when pointer reaches red zone of gauge (approx. 7 to 10 psid)

Check mark

Failure to change element at least once a year or when the gauge reaches the red zone will adversely affect dryer performance.

Check mark

Internal float drain valve on the prefilter inspected every two to three weeks for excessive oil and water

Check mark

Test valve on the bottom of the filter unit pressed

Check mark

More than one or two drops of oil leaked out?

Check mark

If more than one or two drops of oil leak out, the drain valve should be cleaned or replaced as required.

Check mark

Sign off on the weekly dryer maintenance

Run this procedureArrow right

2 Weekly Prefilter Float Drain Valve Maintenance

Check mark

Warning: Vent internal pressure to atmospheric pressure before performing any maintenance.

Check mark

Inspect the internal float drain valve on the prefilter for excessive oil and water by pressing the test valve on the bottom of the filter. If more than one or two drops of oil leak out, the drain valve should be cleaned or replaced as required.

Check mark

Isolate the filter by opening the bypass valve and closing both isolation valves.

Check mark

Open the pressure bleed valve to vent the filter to atmospheric pressure.

Check mark

Disconnect drain lines and automatic drain valves (if installed).

Check mark

Warning: A 'hissing' sound while the bowl is being removed indicates the filter has not been properly depressurized. DO NOT continue to remove the bowl until the filter has been completely vented to atmospheric pressure.

Check mark

Remove the bottom bowl by unscrewing it from the head. A strap wrench may be needed.

Check mark

Remove the nut from the bottom of the bowl.

Check mark

Turn the bowl upside down. The float drain will fall out.

Run this procedureArrow right

1 Yearly Prefilter Element Replacement

Check mark

DANGER! Vent internal pressure to atmospheric pressure before performing any maintenance.

Check mark

Isolate the filter by opening the bypass valve, and closing both isolation valves.

Check mark

Open the pressure bleed valve to vent the filter to atmospheric pressure.

Check mark

Disconnect drain lines at manual and automatic drain valves (if installed).

Check mark

DANGER! A 'hissing' sound while the bowl is being removed indicates the filter has not been properly depressurized. DO NOT continue to remove the bowl until the filter has been completely vented to atmospheric pressure.

Check mark

Remove the bottom bowl by unscrewing it from the head. A strap wrench may be needed.

Check mark

Remove the element from the filter head with a brisk downward pull, or by working the element back and forth until it snaps free. Discard the element in accordance with applicable regulations.

Check mark

Clean accumulated debris from the bowl with soap and water, and dry thoroughly.

Check mark

CAUTION! Lubricate the element O-ring with a petroleum-based lubricant that is compatible with your application.

Run this procedureArrow right

1 Daily Dryer Maintenance

Check mark

DANGER: Dismantling or working on any component of the compressed air system under pressure may cause equipment failure and serious personal injury. Before dismantling any part of the dryer or compressed air system, completely vent the internal pressure to the atmosphere.

Check mark

For continued good performance of your refrigerated dryer, all refrigeration system maintenance should be performed by a competent refrigeration mechanic.

Check mark

Before corrective maintenance is done during the warranty period, call your local distributor and proceed according to instructions. Refer to the warranty for limits of your coverage.

Check mark

Check the operation of the automatic drain valve at least once during each 8-hour shift.

Check mark

On models 75 to 100 scfm, inspect and clean (if necessary) the drain valve strainer. See the Field Service Guide for remedies to drain valve malfunctions. See the Instrumentation section for drain valve adjustment.

Check mark

For models with the System Operation Monitor, check the following readouts.
