Motor Adjustment

Lower lever positioned to the extreme left and the upper lever positioned to the extreme right?

To prevent complete closure of the damper, follow the next steps

Loosen the wing nut on the bottom of the unit?

Check mark

Move the upper lever to the left until the desired position is reached?

Check mark

Tighten the wing nut?

Check mark

Damper stays open approximately 40° with the power on?

Check mark

To allow the damper to fully open 90° when energized, follow the next steps

Motor Replacement

Check mark

Disconnect the motor wiring

Check mark

Loosen the large Allen set screw located between the faceplate and the motor coupling

Check mark

Remove the motor

Check mark

Ensure damper blades are in the open position with the set screw pointing toward the open position on the label

Check mark

Attach new motor to the coupling; be sure that the standoff on the motor is positioned in the grommet on the faceplate and that the set screw is aligned with the motor shaft hole

Check mark

Tighten the set screw

Check mark

Sign off on the motor replacement

Damper moves to closed position when 24 Vac is applied to M1 and M6 terminals

Check mark

Indicator rotates from Open to Closed and Closed LED is lit when energized

Check mark

Damper returns to normally-open position when power is removed

Check mark

To remove power, disconnect one wire from the motor

Check mark

Motor operates smoothly and without hesitation throughout the complete opening and closing stroke

Check mark

Damper and shaft rotate freely within the duct

Check mark

Opening and closing is achieved

Check mark

If opening and closing is not achieved, check that the range-stop setting is correct

Check mark

Sign off on the damper checkout
