Ensure the replacement line module is available and ready to install.

Wear a properly installed ESD wrist strap to avoid damage to the line card.

Enter the slot ID for the module to be shut down.

Use the module <SLOT-ID> admin-state down command to bring down the module slot before removing the installed module.

Verify that the module is down using the show module <SLOT-ID> command.

Loosen the screws securing the line module to the chassis.

Put on an ESD wrist strap and connect it to the ESD connection point on the front of the chassis.

Refer to 'Attaching an ESD Wrist Strap' on page 41 for detailed instructions.

Identify the standby Management module by checking if the Stby LED shows a solid green and the Actv LED is dark.

Loosen the screws securing the standby module to the chassis.

Open the module levers and pull the module out of its slot.

Place the removed module in an anti-static bag to protect it from ESD damage.

Put on an ESD wrist strap and connect it to the ESD connection point on the front of the chassis.

Ensure both management modules are installed

Identify and Switch Over Modules

Identify the active management module by checking if the Mgmt State Actv LED shows solid green.

Execute the redundancy-switchover command using CLI and describe the process.

Check if the Active/Standby conversion took place by verifying the Active and Standby LEDs on both modules.

Loosen the screws securing the module converted to Standby.
