Apply pressure with thumb to hold pawl in place with teeth aligned correctly

Rotate the shaft until the pawl is seated properly in the reverser threads

Ensure components are present and installed

Rotate the shaft several times to ensure proper functioning of the pawl

Hydraulic Drive Motor Installation

Install hydraulic drive motor for COUNTER-CLOCKWISE rotation of the scanner shaft

Tighten all nuts and bolts in a star pattern until snug

Isolate the filter by turning the outlet valve off, then the inlet valve off

Relieve pressure inside of filter body by initiating a manual flush, opening a drain valve or slightly opening filter lid

Remove 5/8” nuts, bolts and washers securing the lid and remove lid

Store lid convex side down to prevent seal damage

Remove coarse screen cap and coarse screen

Ensure all required tools are available

Remove internals from tank as described in the manual

Remove rotational governor paddles by unscrewing Phillips screws and 5/16” nut and bolt

Remove rotational governor by unscrewing 3/16” Allen screw and sliding it off the shaft

Remove dirt collector’s nozzles by unscrewing two 9/64” Allen screws at the bases of the nozzles

Gasket and Lubrication Precautions

Ensure the floating gasket in the lower bulkhead is placed face up towards the reverser.

Confirm no lubrication is applied to the pawl and reverser.

Check that filter elements fit into the grooves in the differing bulkheads before securing the filter assembly.

Ensure screen filters are properly placed into the bulkhead grooves after mounting the rotor assembly.

Select the lubricant type used for bulkhead seals.

Verify that bulkhead seals are lubricated before installing the filter assembly into the tank.
