Compressor Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
Remove the terminal cover.
Disconnect the lead wires of the compressor.
Unfasten the hooks with a flat screwdriver to remove the overload protector.
Remove the protection bushing.
Remove the 2 nuts of the compressor.
Warning: Be careful not to get yourself burnt with the pipes and other parts that are heated by the gas brazing machine.
Warning: If the refrigerant gas leaks during work, ventilate the room. (If the refrigerant gas is exposed to flames, toxic gas may be generated.)
Warning: Since it may happen that the refrigerant oil in the compressor catches fire, prepare wet cloth so as to extinguish fire immediately.
Electrical Box Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
Disconnect the connecting wires
Remove the 3 screws to remove the wiring fixture
Remove all screws to disconnect the power supply cables and the connecting wires
Release the outdoor temperature thermistor
Lift up the guard net and remove it
Remove the 7 screws, and remove the right side panel
Remove the screw of the terminal board
Disconnect the connector for the fan motor [S70]
Electronic Expansion Valve Check
EV connector correctly connected to the PCB
EV generates latching sound when power is turned off and on
Continuity confirmed when connector is disconnected and checked with a tester
Check continuity between the following pins
If no continuity between pins, EV coil is faulty
If continuity confirmed, outdoor unit PCB is faulty
Note: Latching sound varies depending on the valve type
Sign off on the electronic expansion valve check
Fan Motor Connector Output Check
Check the connection of connector
Check the motor power supply voltage output (pins 4 - 7)
Check the motor control voltage (pins 4 - 3)
Check the rotation command voltage (pins 4 - 2)
Check the rotation pulse (pins 4 - 1)
Sign off on the fan motor connector output check
Four Way Valve / Electronic Expansion Valve Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
Remove the sound blanket.
Detach the four way valve coil and the 2 clamps, and then detach the wire harnesses.
Remove the screw and remove the four way valve coil.
Pull out the electronic expansion valve coil.
Remove the putty.
Remove the terminal cover.
Before working, make sure that the refrigerant gas is empty in the circuit.
Be sure to apply nitrogen replacement when heating up the brazed part.
