Open all electrical disconnects and check all power wiring connections.

Start at the power block and check all connections through all components to and including the compressor terminals.

These should be checked again after 3 months of operation and at least annually thereafter.

Sign off on the electrical check

Warning: Only authorized personnel should perform this procedure.

Is the short circuit indicator functional?

Are the MMP trip points factory set?

Unauthorized trip point or setpoint adjustment voids all or portions of the unit’s warranty.

For motors with a 1.15 service factor, does the arrow on the dial correspond to the motor FLA?

For motors with a 1.0 service factor, is the arrow on the dial set to 0.9 times the motor FLA?

Is the MMP reset by rotating the knob counterclockwise to the OFF position, then clockwise to the ON position?

Warning: If an overload or a fault current interruption occurs, check circuits to determine the cause of the interruption.

If a fault condition exists, is the controller examined?

The condenser coils are an all-aluminum design including the connections, micro-channels, fins (an oven brazing process brazes the fins to the micro-channel flat tube), and headers.

Connecting the Condenser Coil to Copper Tubing

CAUTION! Potential equipment damage. If a standard copper brazing process is performed at this joint, the process will damage the aluminum connection.

If a leak is found at a copper-aluminum joint, it is recommended that the entire microchannel coil module be replaced. Do not attempt to repair the copper-aluminum joint on site.

Micro-Channel aluminum coil cleaning recommendations

Any detergent left on the coil surfaces will promote corrosion.

Sign off on the Aluminium Coil Maintenance

The steps below are necessary only if the unit has been started.

Each circuit is properly pumped down.

All the refrigerant service valves on each circuit are closed.

Valves are tagged as a warning for the technician who restarts the units.
