Check your truck before starting work. You must make sure your truck is safe to use.

Water level in serviceable batteries is appropriate

Battery cables and connectors are not damaged or corroded

All wheels are in good condition

Both forks are secure, straight and not cracked or badly worn

Load backrest is in place and secure (if applicable)

Test truck in an uncongested area

Operate the truck slowly in both directions

Operate through the full speed range in both forward and reverse

Check braking distance in forward and reverse

Is the braking distance acceptable?

If the braking distance is too long for you, don't use your truck

Report any issues to your supervisor

Warning: Only trained and authorized personnel should perform this procedure

Is the energy level of the TPPL battery low?

If the energy level is low, charge the battery as soon as possible

Did you opportunity charge the battery during breaks or when the truck was not in use?

Are you trained and authorized to charge or refuel a power source?

Are you trained and authorized to remove or install a power source?

Charging a Flooded Lead Acid Battery

Did you turn the truck OFF and disconnect the battery before installation or change?

Read the instructions for the charger and power source

Charger has the correct voltage and amperage for the power source

Power source charged in an authorized area

Followed the directions on the charger provided

- Charge a V-Force Lithium-Ion Battey

1. Turn off your truck. Do not disconnect the battery

2. Pull out the extension cord and plug it into the AC outlet

3. Follow the charging instructions for the V-Force lithium-ion battery

BEFORE CHARGING POWER SOURCES:

• Read the instructions for the charger and power source

• Make sure that the charger has the correct voltage and amperage for the power source

• Only charge a power source in an authorized area
