1 Daily Battery Check
Check all batteries daily unless sealed, maintenance- free batteries have been selected
CHARGERS: To use a separate external charger, follow the directions on the charger provided
To use a charger built into the truck you must first have access to an AC electrical outlet. To charge the batteries:
Turn the truck off. Do not disconnect the battery
Use an extension cord less than 7.5 meters (25 ft) long, with a wire size of 16 AWG or heavier
Plug one end of the extension cord into the charging socket on the console
Plug the other end of the cord into the AC outlet
Check the charging lights on the console
WHAT THE LIGHTS MEAN:
1 Daily Truck Check
Warning: This check requires trained personnel with PPE!
Batteries are charged
Water level is OK
Vent caps are in place
All wheels are in good condition
Both forks are secure and not bent, cracked or badly worn
All lift chains are undamaged
Load backrest is in place and secure
No signs of hydraulic leaks under the truck
1 Daily Truck Test
Test drive in an uncongested area
Try all the hydraulic functions
Check the steering
Operate the truck slowly in both directions
Operate through the full speed range in both forward and reverse
Braking distance in forward
Braking distance in reverse
Is the braking distance safe?
If the braking distance is too long to stop safely, don't use the truck
Battery Replacement
Warning: Only trained personnel should perform this procedure
Is the truck turned OFF and battery disconnected?
Is the correct size and weight battery used?
Is there anything metal touching the top of the cells?
Is an insulator used when necessary?
Is an approved spreader bar used to place or remove the battery?
Are the spreader bar hooks adjusted to fit the battery?
Is the new battery connected and truck operation checked?
