Top Cover Removal
4400 PT/CL, 4200PT Cover Removal
Remove the mid cover and the console
Release the pins along the middle seam of the top cover
4600 PT/CL Cover Removal
Use the fastener removal tool to release the cover fasteners
Separate the top covers
Reinstallation of 4400 PT/CL and 4200 PT Fasteners
Reinstall the fasteners
Handlebar Removal
Preparation
Remove the console and separate the left and right top cover
Cable Management
Cut the Ty-wraps that secure the main cable to the handlebar tube
Handlebar Detachment
Remove the four screws that hold the handlebar tube in the frame tube
Ensure all flat washers are removed
Handlebar Removal
Lift the handlebar out of the frame
Poly-V And Htd Belt Removal
Preparation
Remove the bottom cover
Poly-V Belt Removal
Loosen the adjustment bolt that mounts the alternator to the slotted alternator brace and the pivot adjusting bolt and nut
Swing the alternator down
Remove the Poly-V belt
HTD Belt Removal
Slide the HTD belt toward you and off the HTD pulley
Remove the HTD belt from the machine
Drive Chain Removal
Remove the bottom cover
Remove the master link from the drive chain
Remove the drive chain from the sprockets
Reinstall the drive chain, ensuring the master link is properly installed
Check the drive chain tension
Is the drive chain tension within 1 to 1-1/2" (2.5 to 4.0 cm) of play?
Lubricate the chain with 30W motor oil and wipe off the excess
Reinstall the covers
Leveling Arm Removal
Preparation
Wear eye protection to reduce the risk of eye injury when removing snap rings.
Removal Process
Remove the pedal.
Remove the bottom cover.
Remove the snap ring that secures the leveling arm to the leveling arm shaft (see Figure 19).
Slide or gently tap the leveling arm off the shaft.
Cleaning
Clean the shaft and the pin with a cloth dampened with 30W motor oil before reassembly.
