Drive Wheel Gearbox Check

Drive wheel spins without noise, rolling resistance and free play

No noticeable movement when rocking the wheel in and out on the gearbox

NOTE: There are no user serviceable parts for the gearbox assembly. The unit must be replaced as a whole.

Drive Train Assembly Maintenance

WARNING: Perform service only in a well-ventilated area. Do not breathe vapors. Wear protective goggles, aprons and gloves. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Keep away from heat and flame.

Position the truck on a flat surface, set the parking brake and block the wheels.

Check mark

Set the key switch to OFF and remove the key.

Check mark

Disconnect the battery.

Check mark

Raise the front wheel of the vehicle and support it.

Check mark

Remove wheel from unit.

Check mark

Clean the area around fill and drain plugs.

Check mark

IMPORTANT: Always place support stands under the truck if lifted.

Check mark

DANGER: NEVER go under a truck supported only by a jack.

Drive Motor Maintenance

1. Repeat steps 1–8 of Gearbox Replacement.

2. Support unit.

Check mark

3. Remove twelve 1/2-20 X 2 screws.

Check mark

4. Rotate motor to align terminals.

Check mark

5. Slide motor out and attach support strap.

Check mark

6. Place assembly on bench.

Check mark

7. Assemble new motor in reverse.

8. Torque screws.;
