1 Yearly Anode Rod Inspection

CAUTION: Property Damage Hazard

Avoid water heater damage

Anode Rod Inspection

Inspect the anode rod for corrosion or pitting

Is the anode rod corroded or pitted?

Is the water artificially softened?

Replace the anode rod if necessary

Record the condition of the anode rod

Post Inspection

Temperature Adjustment

Safety Precautions

Turn off the heater electrical supply

Ensure power is off before adjusting thermostat

Access Thermostat

Open the junction box door (for upper thermostat of dual element water heater only)

Remove the lower thermostat access panel

Ensure plastic personnel protectors covering the thermostats are not removed

Adjust Thermostat

Rotate the adjusting knob to the desired temperature setting using a flat tip screwdriver
