Warning: Ensure power is removed from the drive before starting the procedure

Barbed retaining clips released

Fan housing removed from the drive

New fan installed with correct air flow direction

Fan wire harness positioned toward the front

Notched housing barb located in the right-rear corner

Warning: Always remove power from the drive before starting the maintenance.

If the environment is dusty, increase the frequency of heatsink checks.

If heatsink fins are not free of dust, follow the cleaning procedure.

Blow clean compressed air (not humid) from bottom to top and simultaneously use a vacuum cleaner at the air outlet to trap the dust.

Note: If there is a risk of the dust entering adjoining equipment, perform the cleaning in another room.

Warning: Only trained personnel should perform this procedure.

Fan showing signs of failure (increasing noise, rising heatsink temperature)?

If no signs of failure, skip the replacement procedure.
