NOTICE: No special tools are required to service assembly sizes 2½" to 3".

Detach the activation module from the flood sensor.

Remove the sensor from the relief valve.

Remove the relief valve cover bolts.

Check if the stem and diaphragm assembly remain with the cover.

Ensure the relief valve spring is free inside the body.

Is the relief valve seat removed for cleaning?

Remove the relief valve assembly by following the preceding procedure.

Remove the retainer from the body bore.

Remove the check valve modules from the valve by hand or with a screwdriver.

Verify the seats and springs of the check modules are not interchangeable

Detach the check seats from the cage using the bayonet type locking arrangement.

Is the disc assembly in good condition?

Ensure the assembly is installed in an accessible location

Verify compliance with state and local codes for installation height above ground

Check for the presence of a strainer ahead of the assembly, if applicable

Close the downstream shutoff valve

Slowly open the upstream shutoff valve to fill the valve

Slowly open the downstream shutoff valve to fill the water supply system
