Handle and dispose of body/bonnet collar gaskets (10a and 10b) carefully to avoid injury

Fitting New Stem/Bellows Assembly

Fit a bellows collar gasket (10a) between the bellows support collar and valve bonnet (2)

Ensure the bellows collar gasket (10a) is accurately located

Apply lubricating compound to the end of the stem pin

Align the stem pin with the slot inside the bonnet

Review Section 1 - 'Safety information' before starting maintenance

Handle and dispose of body/bonnet collar gaskets (10a and 10b) carefully to avoid injury

Remove the old stem pin and replace the disc (4)

Attach the new disc with the new stem pin (supplied)

Prise the crimped skirt away from the retaining nut and unscrew

Remove and save the collets and retaining nut for reuse

Lightly grease collets and threads with lubricating compound such as Molybdenum Sulphide

Handle body/bonnet collar gaskets (10a and 10b) with care to avoid injury from the stainless steel support ring

Unscrew bonnet studs/nuts (9) to remove the valve bonnet (2) from the body (1)

Replace the visible body gasket (10b)

Ensure the gasket face in the body (1) is clean before fitting a replacement

Handle and dispose of body/bonnet collar gaskets (10a and 10b) carefully to avoid physical injury from the thin stainless steel support ring

Remove circlip using circlip pliers

Observe the data in Section 1 - 'Safety information'

Handle and dispose of body/bonnet collar gaskets (10a and 10b) carefully

Remove all old stem packing material from the bonnet cavity

Check that the solid stem pin is aligned with the slot inside the bonnet

Fit a new stem packing ring (8) over the stem

Slide the new packing ring down the stem into the cavity
