Ensure the valve is in the full open position before removing the electrical or air supply.

Consult supplementary sheet for installing valves with fail-closed cylinders.

Check if actuators have manual overrides or access to required air or electrical supply.

Remove all body bolts to separate the valve body.

Lift the top half with actuator and scissor mechanism to expose the sleeve.

Remove screws holding the lower tabs to the pinch bar.

Ensure spring compression is relieved properly

Do not cut off extra length of thread on tie rods

Remove all piping connected to the cylinder

Remove all accessory arms connected to the valve stem or piston rod

Remove the four nuts on the tie rods below the actuator

Separate the valve stem from the piston rod

Remove the actuator from the mounting bracket

Lubricate the stem using the grease fitting provided by the actuator manufacturer.

Lubricate side rods where they pass through the brass guides.

Positioners and Manual Overrides

Check the manufacturer's IOM for maintenance schedule and procedures for positioners and manual overrides.

Are there any air leaks detected in the pneumatic cylinders?

Replace O-rings if air leaks are detected.
