Keep the unit free from dust, dirt, grease, and foreign matter.

Combustion Air and Exhaust Vent Piping

Inspect the combustion air and exhaust vent piping for cleanliness.

Burner Ports and Pilot Burner Orifices

Inspect the burner ports and pilot burner orifices for cleanliness.

Note any issues found during inspection of burner ports and pilot burner orifices.

Air Shutters and Main Burner Orifices

Inspect the air shutters and main burner orifices for cleanliness.

Burner and Pilot Assembly Removal

Lower bottom pan to expose burner and manifold

Disconnect pilot tubing and thermocouple lead (or ignition cable) at the combination gas control (and ignition control)

Remove the two burner retaining pins

Lower bottom pan to expose burner and manifold

Disconnect pilot tubing and thermocouple lead (or ignition cable) at the combination gas control (and ignition control)

Disconnect control wires for the combination gas control

Disconnect gas manifold at ground union joint

Remove the two screws holding the manifold to the heat exchanger support

Check the following components for proper assembly

Clean any dust, dirt, or foreign matter from the fan blades

Blower Bearings Inspection and Maintenance

Check blower bearings for unusual wear

Lubricate blower bearings as per manufacturer's recommendations

Replace blower bearings if needed

Check alignment of drive sheaves

Ensure drive sheaves are securely fastened
