Gun Cable Cleaning
Warning: This procedure should be performed by trained personnel only
Enter the amount of electrode used
Cable removed from the wire feeder?
Contact tip removed from the gun?
Cable liner cleaned with air hose?
Sign off on the gun cable cleaning
Drive Rolls and Guide Plate Maintenance
Warning: This maintenance check requires trained personnel with PPE!
Wire drive mechanism inspected?
Cleaned with low pressure compressed air?
Warning: Do not use solvents for cleaning the idle roll because it may wash the lubricant out of the bearing
Select the wire size used
Drive roll changed if necessary?
Sign off on the drive rolls and guide plate maintenance
Liner Replacement
Remove the gas nozzle
Remove the gas diffuser from the gun tube
Lay gun and cable out straight on a flat surface. Loosen set screw of the connector on the back end of the gun
Insert the untrimmed Liner into the back end of the gun
Seat Liner bushing into back of gun. Secure Liner by tightening set screw. Do not install the gas diffuser at this time
Lay the cable straight and trim Liner to 9/16”. Remove burrs
Install insulator and secure the gas diffuser into the tube
Sign off on the liner replacement
Gun Calibration Check
Turn off all settings in the weld mode
Adjust wire feed speed to 360
Disengage the rear drive motor
Disconnect the gun from the gun receiver bushing and cut the wire at the front of the machine
Make sure the gun and cable assembly are straight
Using a stop watch, pull the trigger for 10 seconds
Measure the wire from the tip of the torch to the end of the wire
The wire should measure just under 60 inches
Preform the gun calibration if the measurement is less than 57 or greater than 63
Gun Calibration
Turn the POWER MIG® 350MP off
Hold “select” switch up while powering up machine
Release “select” switch when displays show “Pres sPin”
Turn the volts / trim knob until displays show “9un CAL”
Toggle the “select” switch up and release
Right display should display a number
Use the volts / trim knob to adjust the calibration value
Toggle the “select” switch up and release to save
The right display should scroll the word “SAVEd’
