Generator Maintenance
- Store the POWER-ARC 5500 in clean, dry, protected areas
- Blow out the generator and controls periodically with low pressure air. Do this at least once a week in particularly dirty areas
- Inspect the brushes when a general overhaul is necessary. Remove the brushes and clean the slip rings with fine grit emery paper
- Keep the electrical receptacles in good condition. Remove any dirt, oil, or other debris from their surfaces and holes
- Check the welding cable connections at the weld output terminals often. Be sure that the connections are always tight
Daily Inspection
- Check oil level
- Refill the fuel tank;
Rotating Screen Cleaning
- Clean rotating screen as often as needed, to remove dirt or debris that may collect on the screen. A dirty screen can result in engine overheating and damage
Oil Replacement
- Change the oil;
Machine Cleaning
- Clean the internal cooling fins and surfaces to prevent over-speeding, overheating, and engine damage
- Clean or replace the spark plug;
