Verify compliance with local code requirements with gas company or authorities.

Remove lead from sensing electrode and install a 0-50DC microamp meter in series between the sensing electrode and the sensing lead.

Reconnect power and adjust thermostat for heating demand.

Record the flame current reading from the microamp meter.

Is the flame current reading within the acceptable range as per TABLE 25?

Preliminary and Seasonal Checks

Ensure the unit is installed according to installation instructions and applicable codes.

Inspect all electrical wiring for loose connections and tighten as required.

Check refrigerant lines for good condition and ensure they do not rub against the cabinet or other lines.

Check voltage to ensure it is within the range listed on the nameplate.

Is the voltage within the range listed on the nameplate?

Recheck voltage and amp draw with unit running.

Is the voltage within range with the unit running?

Inspect and adjust blower belt.

Check with gas company or authorities for local code requirements

Refer to the LGT Installation, Operation and Maintenance instruction

Determine Btuh input from unit rating plate or gas heating capacity in SPECIFICATIONS tables

Calculate the number of cubic feet per hour required

Determine the flow of gas through gas meter for two minutes

Multiply the two-minute gas flow reading by 30 to get hourly flow

Shut off all other gas appliances connected to meter

Verify local code requirements with gas company or authorities

Remove spark electrode assembly

Remove two screws securing the electrode assembly

Slide out the electrode assembly from the unit

Measure the spark gap using twist drills or feeler gauges

Is the spark gap between 0.125” and 0.140”?
