Forklift Trucks Cleaning
CAUTION: If water gets into the electrical system (controller, sensor, connectors, etc.) it will cause malfunctions or operational failure. Do not wash the electrical system with water or high-pressure steam.
Turn the starting switch key to the OFF position, then remove the key.
Wash each part (1 to 4 parts in the figure at right), following the instructions in the table on the following page.
Dry off all wet areas with an air blower.
After checking that the washed parts have dried out, insert the starting switch key and turn it to the ON position, make sure that there is no abnormality, and then start operation.
Sign off on the forklift trucks cleaning
1200 Hourly or 6 Monthly Forklift Trucks Maintenance
Check steering link for bending, damage and wear
Check steering knuckle for play, deformation and damage
Check for marked variation in minimum turning radius
Change oil in differential case (clutch-type lift trucks, include transmission case)
WARNING: Watch out for HOT OIL. Immediately after operations, the oil will be very hot. Wait for the oil temperature to go down before starting this maintenance operation.
Remove the oil filler plug, then remove the drain plug and drain the oil.
After draining the oil, reinstall and tighten the drain plug and add the specified amount of Komatsu Forklift oil through the oil filler.
After filling with new oil, check the oil level.
Change oil in TORQFLOW transmission case
2400 Hourly or 12 Monthly Forklift Trucks Maintenance
Check operation of brake master cylinder
Check for oil leakage in brake master cylinder
Check for damage and wear in brake master cylinder
Check operation of wheel cylinders
Check for oil leakage in wheel cylinders
Check for damage and wear in wheel cylinders
Check operation of brake drum
Check for damage and wear in brake drum
Check brake linings for wear
Initial 200 Hours or 1 Month Forklift Trucks Maintenance
Change oil in hydraulic tank, replace line filter, clean strainer, clean inside of tank
Change oil in engine oil pan and replace engine oil filter cartridge (gasoline and diesel engines)
Check, adjust engine intake and exhaust valve clearance
Tighten (retorque) engine cylinder head bolts
Check air cleaner and replace element/filter if dirty
Inspect and clean fuel filter sock ( not replaceable) (gasoline engine)
Change oil in TORQFLOW transmission case and clean TORQFLOW transmission strainer
Change oil in differential case (includes oil in transmission case on clutch-type lift trucks)
Check spark plugs for burning of electrode, burning of insulator (gasoline & LP engines)
500 Hourly Forklift Trucks Maintenance
Change oil in engine oil pan and replace engine oil filter cartridge (gasoline engine)
Remove the drain plug, drain the oil, then reinstall and tighten the drain plug
Add the specified amount of genuine Komatsu Forklift engine oil
Check the oil level with the dipstick
Replace engine oil filter
Using a filter wrench, remove the oil filter cartridge
Clean the filter holder on the engine
Coat the threads on the holder and the seal on the new filter with clean engine oil
Install the new filter
