1 Daily Oil Indicator Check
WARNING! Don't open the screwing during dryer operation or line is under pressure. DANGER OF INJURY!
Oil indicator checked
Oil indicator should not be used as a maintenance tool for determining the outstanding durability of the active carbon. Maintenance should be conducted according to the preset maintenance schedule.
Bear in mind that the service kits provided by the supplier should be used to warrant that the original ACT capacity is restored.
Oil indicator spindle valve (NV007) is a bit open
Oil indicator may indicate malfunction of ACT unit operation. Therefore, the oil indicator spindle valve (NV007) should be a bit open so as to keep a small quantity of processed compressed air to flow continuously through the indicator tube.
Should the compressed air enrichment continue, the hydrocarbons contained therein will dye the tube indicator red, towards the outlet. The characteristics and scope of the discolouring will be significantly affected e.g. by water contained in the air. It is hardly possible to determine the remaining charge precisely.
Therefore, the oil indicator should not be used for continuous supervision of the required quality of the compressed air nor for reliable measurements of hydrocarbon contents.
However, it can be useful for the following precious hint:
12000 Hourly / 5 Yearly Activated Carbon Replacement
• Active carbon in the reservoir should be changed latest every 12,000 working hours / 5 years / or after the oil indicator tube becomes fully coloured.
• Compressed air should be checked continuously at the output end to prevent the following structural elements from deterioration.
• Usability period of the active carbon is dependent largely upon the type of lubricants and oil content in the input compressed air. In particular, it depends on the temperature and pressure at the input.
To replace the activated carbon.
· Close all inlet- and outlet valves.
· Depressurize the vessels.
· Remove the plug at the outlet connection, after a collecting vessel is standing under the drain plug.
· Empty the vessels.
· Sealing the plug at the outlet-connection.
