John Deere Tractor 7520

Change IVT Transmission/Hydraulic System Oil

Start engine and operate several hydraulic functions to heat oil.

Park tractor on level surface. Lower rear hitch and front-mounted implements (if equipped).

Stop the engine and remove the key.

Replace transmission/hydraulic oil filters (B).

Replace seals and tighten drain screws to 50 Nom (35 lb-ft).

Add transmission/hydraulic oil to the transmission case.

Have John Deere Dealer Check Cab Suspension Accumulators

Check Transmission/Hydraulic Oil Level

Lower rear hitch and front-mounted implements (if equipped).

For 7220 and 7320 Tractors: Unscrew dipstick (A), remove it and wipe it clean.

Screw-in dipstick fully, remove it and check oil level.

Oil level should be between marks on the dipstick.

Lubricate 2WD Adjustable Front Axle Components

Lubricate MFWD Axle and Drive Shaft

Check Oil Level in Axle Housing and final Drives

Check Oil Level in Rear Drop-Axle, Hi-Crop Tractors (7420 only)

Lubricate Rockshaft and Hitch Components

Turn cab heater control to fully open position

Loosen and remove filler cap after engine and coolant has cooled completely

Pressurize system to 50 to 60 kPa (7 to 8.7 psi)

Inspect system for leaks using suitable radiator tester

Turn connect/disconnect control valve counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn to open

Open radiator drain valve and let coolant flow until system is empty

Remove thermostat housing (E) and thermostat

Test thermostat to verify it opens within specified temperature range

Install housing without thermostat
