CAUTION: Never remove chain guards while the conveyor is running. Always replace guards after adjustments are made.

Check sprocket alignment by placing a straightedge across the face of both sprockets

Loosen set screws and adjust as needed

Loosen bolts that fasten motor base to mounting angles, both sides of the conveyor

Tighten take-up bolts until desired chain tension is reached

Lubricate chain per lubrication instructions

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Is the drive chain pre-lubricated from the manufacturer?

If not, apply a good grade of non-detergent petroleum or synthetic lubricant (i.e., Mobile 1 Synthetic)

Enter the hours of operation since last lubrication

Enter the date of last lubrication

Select the operating environment

For harsh conditions, it is best to lubricate more frequently and develop a custom lubrication schedule

Enter any notes or observations about the drive chain condition

Sign off on the drive chain lubrication

Take-up brackets with sheaves are located at both ends of conveyor section

Take-up sheave removed and re-positioned closer to double groove sheave to tighten belt

Take-up sheave moved in opposite direction to loosen belt

NOTE: it is recommended that both take-up sheaves be moved when making adjustments.

Take-up bracket located near the center on the underside of the conveyor

Jam nuts on the take-up screw loosened and take-up sheave moved as indicated in Figure 20A
