Valve Coils / Thermistor Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
1. Remove the electronic expansion valve coil
★ Illustrations are for 3 room model.
1 Remove the each electronic expansion valve coil.
2. Remove the four way valve coil
1 Loosen the 1 screw to remove the four way valve coil.
3. Remove the liquid/gas pipe thermistor
Meet the edge of the thermistor and clip.
The number of ports is different according to the models.
Electronic Expansion Valve Check
Check No.04:
Conduct the followings to check the electronic expansion valve (EV).
1. Check to see if the EV connector is correctly inserted in the PCB. Compare the EV unit and the connector number.
2. Turn the power off and back on again, and check to see if all the EVs generate latching sound.
3. If any of the EVs does not generate latching noise in the above step 2, disconnect that connector and check the conductivity using a tester.
Check the conductivity between pins 1, 3 and 6, and between pins 2, 4 and 5. If there is no conductivity between the pins, the EV coil is faulty.
4. If no EV generates latching sound in the above step 2, the outdoor unit PCB is faulty.
5. If the conductivity is confirmed in the above step 2, mount a good coil (which generated latching sound) in the EV unit that did not generate latching sound, and check to see if that EV generates latching sound.
∗If latching sound is generated, the outdoor unit PCB is faulty.
Power Supply Waveforms Check
Check No.10: Power Supply Waveforms Check
Measure the power supply waveform between pins 1 and 3 on the terminal board
Is the power supply waveform a sine wave (Refer to Fig.1)?
Is there waveform disturbance near the zero cross (Refer to sections circled in Fig.2)?
Upload a photo of the measured waveform
Sign off on the power supply waveforms check
Capacitor Voltage Check
Warning: Check the main circuit for short-circuit before proceeding
Main circuit checked for short-circuit?
Warning: Be careful never to touch any live parts
Measure the voltage according to the model's drawing
Upload a photo of the voltage reading
Sign off on the capacitor voltage check
PCB Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
1. Remove the service PCB
★ Illustrations are for 3 room
1 External appearance of model. the service PCB and the terminal board.
2 Loosen the 1 screw of the terminal board and open it.
3 Disconnect the connector [S52] and [S102] from the service PCB.
4 Widen the upper hook and pull the service PCB upward to remove.
2. Remove the control PCB
1 Disconnect the each connectors on the terminal board.
