Is the fan located above a commercial kitchen?

For fans above commercial kitchens

Loosen the screws on the fan collet piece and shaft

Press down on the impeller hub and remove it from the motor shaft

Check for any built-up dirt or other matter affecting fan performance.

Clean the impeller and motor thoroughly unless the fan motor is IP 66 rated.

Check the operation of starting equipment.
